Pacific’ And The New Caldera Map Are Now Live With A Truly Massive Update

Warzone: Pacific is now live, kicking off with a brand new map alongside Call Of Duty: Vanguard for a new WWII-themed experience beginning in Season 1.

Not everyone can play the new Caldera map or the Warzone: Pacific experience right away, so make sure you’re able to hop into the new map tonight—one day early, before it launches for everybody else.

Verdansk is no more. I spent the evening playing the special limited time mode ‘Last Hours Of Verdansk’ which was a great sendoff to the original Warzone map. Now it’s gone and Caldera has arrived.

Warzone: Pacific went live at 9 pm PT, December 7th / midnight ET, December 8th. It will be in early access for 24 hours before launching for everyone at 9 pm PT, December 8th / midnight ET, December 9th.

But even though the game is live, don’t expect to hop right in. The update size is truly massive, especially if you’re on PC. Here’s what you should expect to download on each platform. I pray to god you have fast internet connections.

Warzone Pacific Update Size

PlayStation 5:

PlayStation 4:

Xbox One Series X / S:

Xbox One:

  • 37.8 GB (Warzone Only)
  • 69.1 GB (Warzone and Modern Warfare®)

Ouch. Even with a pretty fast connection this will take some time and eat up some serious hard drive space.

Get ready to dive into Vanguard Royale when your update is finished. The new mode is WWII-themed, leaving out all non-WWII weapons and limiting killstreaks and other items. Bombing runs will take place throughout the match and the initial public circle is bigger, with live events taking place during each following circle, similar to Operation: Flashback.

There’s also a fun Vanguard Resurgence mode which is similar to Resurgence on Rebirth Island but takes place on limited POIs across the Caldera map. This mode is limited to 48 players.

There’s also traditional Battle Royale where anything goes and weapons and other times from across Modern Warfare, Black Ops Cold War and Vanguard are fair game, as well as the return of Plunder.

The new Battle Pass for Warzone Pacific and Vanguard is also live, with a Battle Pass Bundle option as well.
